Musings on The Hague

What an incredible city! While we've gotten our fair share of rain and wind, we've managed to get out and do some exploring in this place that we are now calling home.

Our first trip out and about was to The Hague (Den Haag). Making use of the great public transportation, we caught an innercity train from Schiphol Airport and were on our way in no time. Caught the beautiful scenery. Saw some windmills, new and old, and an interesting small network of tiny houses next to the train tracks. Would love to figure that one out!

Upon arrival to The Hague we grabbed a quick bit at Julia's. Good Food. We then walked over to the Esher Museum (Escher in het Paleis).

What a delight! While this trip was more for my husband, I as well enjoyed all of the interactiveness of the museum. Plus it is housed in a former palace. So you not only get to learn about Escher, but also about "Lange Voorhout Palace" dating from the eighteenth century.

We left a bit of time to explore the city. But I believe that we'll have to go back in order to truly appreciate all that it has to offer. And we will be back of course. Who can resist the charm of The Hague!
