When you're dining with your family, if it's anything like mine than you have at least one picky eater. Here at de Foodhallen, there is something for everyone. Whether you are visiting Amsterdam during a family vacation or you live here, this place should be on your must see list.
De Foodhallen is an indoor food market centrally located in an old tram depot in Amsterdam Oud-West. When visiting with a baby or children, our advice is to come for lunch. During lunch time there is plenty of space for a stroller or you can use the high chairs that they have available. While the atmosphere at night is still suitable for visiting with children, it does get rather loud and crowded. During the afternoon, you are sure to have a place to sit and enjoy your family time together.
Family Pro-Tip: Come during lunch to avoid the crowds
With so many options to choose from, this place is foodie heaven! We personally love the burgers from The Butcher.
And the Korean Fried Chicken is also amazingly delicious!
And if neither of those suits your fancy, you can choose from one of the many other vendors. These range from traditional Dutch food at "De Ballenbar" to Vietnamese food at "Việt View." A full list of the current vendors can be found here in Dutch.
Besides food, while here you can also visit a movie next door at "Filmhallen", visit a public library, or shop for local goods at the "Local Goods Store."
