Quiet retreat near the heart of Prague

Quiet retreat near the heart of Prague

For our wintersport holiday we headed back to where else but one of our current favorite travel destinations, the Czech Republic (Tsjechië). We touched down in Prague late on a Monday night. And that lead to us picking a hotel convient to get to with public transportation from the airport. The one that we picked turned out to be an impressive 1000 year old historical monastery. It was a treasure in the heart of Prague.

Adalbert Ecohotel Prague

The hotel is housed in a 10th century monastery. It is surrounded by picturesque landscaped gardens. For food and drinks, it features a fantastic breakfast buffet selection, made with local products, in room minibar (at very reasonable prices) and traditional Czech cuisine is served in Ecohotel Adalbert's rustic restaurant.

Adalbert Ecohotel offers spacious accommodations with satellite TV, free wifi through the facilities and a work desk. A tour of the Brevnov monastery can be organised. It also include a 24-hour reception desk for those arriving late like we did.

Free private parking is provided by Adalbert and Ruzyně Airport is only a 10-minute drive away. Plus, it is also very convient to get to from the airport by bus and tram. Or, you can tell the hotel ahead of time your flight schedule and they will send a taxi to pick you up.

Our impressions

  • Beautiful and peaceful surroundings, impressive rooms, easy to access from major attractions as well as the airport and the perfect medieval bar and restaurant to spend an evening in.

The next morning we said our goodbyes to Prague and headed to our intended winter holiday destination, Janske Lazne. Next time we return to Prague, we will certainly spend more time at this fantastic getaway.
